Good afternoon Rotarians!  At our meeting Thursday, April 12, 2012, I shared a flyer from the Huntersville Policy Department regarding Pat's Place.  Most of us are familiar with the Dove House in Statesville, and Pat's Place is the center that serves Mecklenburg county children.  Children who have been sexually abused are taken to Pat's Place for interviews and medical treatment and their families receive services under the Victim Advocacy program as well.  The Huntersville PD is hosting a toy and book drive during the month of April, which is also Child Abuse Awareness Month.

This is a great program and one our Rotary Club should help make the Mecklenburg coutny public aware of.  I encourage each of you to place a container in your office or business location(s) to collect toys, books and the other items listed on the flyer I have attached.  Alex Bishop has a few boxes from Toys for Tots we can use for the next couple of weeks if you do not have a box or container.  You may pick those up at his office today after 2:00pm.

Please bring any items you collect to our next 2 meetings in April and I will deliver to the Huntersville PD.  Please feel free to share this flyer with all of your contacts.

Thank you for all you do!!

Yours in Rotary Service,

About Our Club

The Rotary Club of Lake Norman-Huntersville is a local chapter of Rotary International, which is truly local and global in scope. More than 35,000 local chapters make up the organization, raise charitable funds and provide assistance to hundreds of local, national and international programs and charities. Our goal is to make our local community better by providing humanitarian efforts to those in need. Our local programs include scholarships for local high school students, student exchange programs, leadership seminars for tomorrow's leaders (for rising high school juniors and seniors), and other charitable projects, most notably, local support of the Lake Norman Community Health Clinic, Hope House, USO of North Carolina - Charlotte and Rotary's End Polio Now campaign. Learn more by visiting our Beneficiaries from our Signature Charity Event, the Annual Wine Spectacular!

Our Rotary Club members share a common interest in serving others, locally in our community and internationally. We are a diverse and dynamic group that is continuing to grow. We enjoy a special camaraderie at our regular weekly morning meetings, and in all of our volunteering, fundraising and social activities. Where else can you really get to know such a varied and talented group of individuals? We hope you will consider learning more about our club, even becoming a member. Most new members of Rotary join for Fun, Fellowship, Food and Philanthropy. But many learn that the rewards of becoming a Rotarian are much larger than they ever imagined.

We invite you to be our guest for breakfast any Thursday from 7:30 to 8:30 AM at Northstone Country Club. A map to our location is here ---> MAP.
