The mission of the USO of North Carolina
is to to serve and support America’s military and their
families.
The USO of North Carolina works continuously to enrich
the lives of America's military in the Carolinas, as
well as fund vital programs and services for these
warriors and their families.
Congress has chartered the USO as a non-profit
charitable corporation. It is not, however, a part of
the United States Government, even though it has been
endorsed by the President of the United States and the
Department of Defense. Each President has been the
Honorary Chairman of the USO since its inception

Our purpose is to help fight hunger in
Huntersville and adjacent towns of Cornelius and
Davidson as well as in the North Mecklenburg County
unincorporated areas.

Special Olympics of Lake Norman
The mission of Special Olympics is to
provide year-round sports training and athletic
competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for
children and adults with intellectual disabilities,
giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical
fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and
participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship
with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and
the community.
Special Olympics Lake Norman currently offers ten sports
for our athletes. The sports are basketball, bocce,
aquatics, athletics, bowling, alpine skiing, soccer,
gymnastics, tennis, and sailing.
