The Rotary Club of Lake Norman - Huntersville would like to
thank all attendees, event sponsors, beneficiaries and our
gracious hosts at Northstone Country Club for this year's
(2009) Wine Spectacular! Congratulations to those who won
some terrific auction and raffle items. Thanks to you, it
looks like we raised nearly $75,000 for local beneficiaries,
The Hope House, USO, Special Olympics, Angels and Sparrows
Soup Kitchen and The Lake Norman Free Clinic!

A special limited seating, by invitation only,
"tutored wine tasting" will be offered at the 11th Annual
Wine Spectacular Auction" at 6:30 pm on Saturday, October 17
by the Rotary Club of Lake Norman at
Northstone Country Club in Huntersville. The Tasting
will be conducted by Ms. Christine Ruotolo of from EJ Gallo
Wines and will explore "Aromas and Sensory Tasting of Wine."
Mr. George Erdle, noted wine expert and writer who helped
arrange the Tasting, says "it will offer some exciting
information for both the wine connoisseur and those
interested in enjoying wine with friends over a meal. It
offers an opportunity to refine an attendee's abilities to
select wines and pair them with their favorite foods." This
unique event also offers each Wine Spectacular ticket holder
a special "gold dubloon" which entitles them to a special
pouring taste of an exquisite 2005 Ramey Larkmead Reserve
Cabernet Sauvignon. Other exciting evening activities
include the popular "Champagne Diamond Reverse Raffle" that,
this year, features a diamond ladies tennis bracelet and a
gentleman's Tag watch, valued at over $8,000! The 11th
Annual Wine Spectacular Auction and Tasting will take place
on Saturday October 17th, 2009, 7pm at
Northstone Country Club benefiting area charities.

The Lake Norman Huntersville Rotary Club will be conducting
its 11th Annual Wine Spectacular on Saturday October 17,
2009 at the Northstone Country Club in Huntersville, North
Carolina. The event starts at 7 pm and will feature
delicious food from Northstone, live entertainment and
dancing, as well as the opportunity to taste and purchase
many fine wines, which have been hand selected by Mr. George
Erdle, the noted wine editor and wine connoisseur. There
will also be silent and live auction of rare wines and other
items that range from golf packages, vacation homes,
certificates from various restaurants, private in home
dinners and opportunity to buy paintings by Stefan Duncan.
One of the premier events of
the evening is the Champagne Diamond Reverse Raffle that
will feature a ladies tennis bracelet and a gentleman's Tag
watch valued at $5000. The beneficiary of this event will be
the USO of North Carolina at Charlotte Douglas Airport.
The USO of North Carolina is a
Non-profit, Non-Governmental citizen's organization that
serves and supports Military and their families. The USO of
North Carolina at Charlotte Douglas Airport is open 17 hours
a day, 365 days a year and serves as a transit lounge for
the Military and their families. It provides food, TV, DVD,
Video games, internet and wi-fi facilities to over 20,000
servicemen and women and their families every month.
The price of the entry to the
main event is $75 per person and the price to participate in
the Champagne Diamond Reverse Raffle starts at $40. With the
expected sale of 150 tickets for the Champagne Diamond
Raffle, the odds of winning the Diamond are 150 to one! It
is necessary to be present at the main event to participate
in the Champagne Diamond Raffle. For those Friends and
Patrons of USO who are unable to attend the Event but still
would like to donate to USO, three categories of Friends of
USO have been created at $50, $100 and other category. One
hundred percent of these donations will go to USO.

Stefan Duncan,
renowned artist, to attend and paint at the

What goes better with wine than art? The Rotary
Club of Lake Norman - Huntersville is pleased to
announce that renowned artist, Stefan Duncan,
will donate a piece from his collection, "Light
Through it All," to be auctioned LIVE on October
17 at the 11th Annual Wine Spectacular at
Northstone Country Club now offering
ONLINE TICKETS. Mr. Duncan be attending the
event, bringing with him a number of his
paintings that will be available for purchase
and donating a portion of the proceeds to this
year's beneficiaries, The Lake Norman Free
Clinic, The Hope House, USO of NC, Angels
and Sparrows, Special Olympics of Lake Norman
and other local charities. An image of this work
is shown above. Mr. Duncan's manager, Kristen
Oliver, states, "It is really one of my
favorites. 'Light Through it All' is a 30 x 48
acrylic painting and is listed at $2100." The
Rotary Club of Lake Norman - Huntersville is
very appreciative of Mr. Duncan's generosity.
Additionally, Mr. Duncan will be working on a

We have incredible auction

area courses, vacation homes and trips, salon and spa

various restaurants and businesses in the Lake Norman (LKN) area, trips to
the zoo, various hotel stay amenities, and private in home
dinners with the season 4 contestant from Hells Kitchen - Ben Caylor just to name a few! We will also be having a

As Rotarian's we firmly believe
in "Service above Self' and over the last several years, we
have contributed in excess of $100,000 to local charities
including The Lake Norman Free Clinic, The Ada Jenkins
Center and the American Red Cross. With our countries economic
crisis this year the need to serve others is greater than
ever and as such we have chosen to lend our support to the
following beneficiaries;
-The Lake Norman Free Clinic
which offers health care services to the uninsured and the
under-insured residents of Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson
and Mooresville on Wednesday evenings will be our main
benefactor this year. Please feel free to visit

-The Hope House in
Huntersville, North Carolina will be this years
benefactor of the Silent Auction. The Hope House offers
transitional housing and support for single mothers and

Kitchen in Huntersville, North Carolina is the recipient to
this years Live Auction and helps to fight hunger in
Huntersville, Cornelius and Davidson, as well as in the

-The USO of North Carolina at
Charlotte Douglas airport will be the benefactor to our
Champagne Diamond Reverse Raffle. The USO of NC enhances the
