Wine & Wine Pourers

The Wine

This year at our event, we will have some spectacular wine to serve.  An example of wines which will be served include:

Two pours each per couple of 2005 Ramey Larkmead Vineyard Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.  Upon your arrival you will be given a gold doubloon to spend on this.

Steven Tanzer writes on this cuvee:  "Dark purple, Remarkably spicy and vibrant on the nose, with powerful cassis, kirsh, espresso and rose pastille aromas and a subtle  iron note.  Intense red and dark fruit flavors are powered by vibrant minerality and framed by fine but solid tannins.  Exotic spice notes come up on the long, stunningly sweet finish.  This wine is just coming into its majority.  Steven gives this wine a rating of 93 - 95."

Three bottles will be left over from the doubloon tasting to be auctioned off during the live auction.

The Pourers

Also we have some Wine Distributors and Sellers coming to pour and educate our guests.  See below for more information.

They will be showing some French and California White and Red Wines as listed below

Golden Grape Shiraz Blend - This wine is 44% Shiraz, 42% Cabernet, and 14% Ruby Cabernet. Shiraz is the most famous vine grown in all of Australia. It is rich and flavorful, intensely colored, tremendously concentrated wine selection - slightly spicy, smooth and with a tinge of luscious chocolate. The wine is approachable and will definitely appreciate with time in your cellar. This full-bodied blockbuster is sure to be enjoyed with powerfully flavored meals of red meats and sauces. $19.49 each bottle

SOLD OUT - Portal Real Cabernet Sauvignon - This wine is 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Syrah and wrapped in burlap. It has an n intense deep ruby red color. There are touches of pepper and chocolate. It is very well balanced with soft tannins and a long finish. This wine hails from Chile. $19.99

Ducca D'Amalfi - This wine is made with the pinot grigio and Chardonnay grapes . It is crisp and clean. It has the fruit of the Riesling grape as well. This is not a sweet wine. It is a great wine for entertaining on the patio in the summer. A fine Italian wine. $18.99 each bottle

Chevalier De Bayard de L'Heralt (France) - This wine shines ruby-red in the glass, with purple reflections. Its bouquet combines fine aromas of blackberry and elder. The tannins are warm and soft-which creates a pleasantly round flavor. This gentle red is excellent with delicate stews, veal, pork or lamb. If serving with cheese, it should be a mild, high-fat cheese. $17.99 each bottle

SOLD OUT - Burg Layer Schlosskapelle Kabinett - This German Riesling hails from the Nahe region of the Rhyne river. It's blue bottle has actual cobalt in the glass. The Kabinett is the first pick of the harvest and is an appetite nuetral wine with only 130 calories in the whole bottle. The new vintage is slightly sweet but not so sweet that dry white wine drinkers don't love it as well. $18.99

Casa Nueva Sauvignon Blanc - This Chilean white wine is very clean and crisp. It has a perfect balance and has a nice citris finish. Definatly a perfect wine with seafood. $18.49 each bottle

Romanet Merlot, Vins de Pays Cotes de Prouilhe (JDE05) – With scents of raspberry and dark cherry, this wine exhibits ripe elegant fruit met with a powerful body and fullness. Ripe silky tannins flow over your palate as hints of chocolate and warm cedar melt into your tongue. The hand-picked grapes were aged in stainless steel vats. $19.00 each bottle

Romanet French Chardonnay (JII06) – The grape is 100% Chardonnay. This wine was produced in a glass lined stainless steel vat. It has no oak influence. This nice softer Chardonnay retains much of its fruit while keeping the fullness of the Chardonnay flavor. $19.50 each bottle
