In order to raise funds for the Veterans Memorial section of the park, the Rotary Clubs of

along with the Sons of the American Legion Post 321 are offering personalized bricks honoring veterans.

The Huntersville Veterans Memorial will consist of six monuments honoring each branch of military service along with a granite globe rotating on water representing the global impact of America's veterans.

Our goal is raise at least $60,000 in funds that will go toward the construction of the columns, granite globe, site furniture and the lighting for the memorial. Construction is scheduled to begin in summer of 2016 and be completed in the spring of 2017 (weather issues could adjust these time frames).

Veterans Park in Downtown Huntersville Will Include:

  • a multipurpose building that can be used for various functions including the Farmers Market,

  • a Festival Stage and Lawn Area, caboose for children's play area,

  • and the Veterans Memorial.

The Veterans Memorial will be located in a highly visible area at the intersections of Huntersville-Concord Road, Maxwell Street, and Main Street.

1. Are the gifts made to this project considered as tax deductible ?

ANSWER: The Rotary Club of Lake Norman-Huntersville is a 501(c)3 organization as recognized by the United States IRS. Therefore your gift could be considered tax deductible. Please consult with your tax advisor to be sure it qualifies for your situation.

2. Does the veteran need to be from Huntersville?

ANSWER: No, all veterans can be honored regardless of where they live.

3. How much do the bricks cost?

ANSWER: $90 for one brick, $75 per brick for 2 or more bricks.

4. When will the project get started and when will it be complete?

ANSWER: Construction will start in the summer of 2016 and be complete spring of 2017. Updates can be found on Facebook.

5. What can be on the brick?

ANSWER: Messages must be military related such as honoring a veteran, the military in general, or some related military organization. Each brick has 3 lines with 18 characters per line.

Order Bricks

Thank you helping leave a legacy for a veteran.

To order bricks, print the Flyer and Order Form and mail it along with a check to the address on the form. You may order as many bricks as you wish.

Prices are $90 for one brick or $75 per brick for 2 or more. Messages on the bricks must be military related, such as honoring a veteran, the military in general, or some related military organization. The veteran being honored is NOT required to have ties to Huntersville.
